A unique example in the panorama of Cooperative winemaking, Produttori del Barbaresco has always been distinguished by the excellent quality of its wines, a perfect synthesis of the multiple expressions of terroir.
Established in 1958, the winery now has over 50 members with 120 hectares of vineyards cultivated with Nebbiolo. Day after day, generation after generation, over fifty families tend the precious Nebbiolo vineyards to produce the finest grapes. The fruit of their labour is delivered to the Winery they founded in 1958 where, with care and respect, it is transformed into Barbaresco wine.
Produttori del Barbaresco vinifies only Nebbiolo grapes grown exclusively in the vineyards of its over 50 members, every year producing a Barbaresco, synonymous throughout the world with quality and typicality, and a Nebbiolo Langhe, vinified from Nebbiolo grapes from the youngest vineyards.
In vintages considered excellent consistently throughout the area of origin, nine Barbaresco wines are also produced from specific crus, marketed as Riserva after four years. The crus are historic vineyards of outstanding value, which Produttori del Barbaresco itself has helped to make famous: Asili, Montefico, Montestefano, Muncagota, Ovello, Pajè, Pora, Rabajà, Rio Sordo.
In the winery, Produttori del Barbaresco follows a traditional vinification process, with long macerations and ageing in large barrels: about 20 months for Barbaresco DOCG and about 30 for Barbaresco Riserva.
Believing in the “hands off” philosophy: the grapes are handled as little as possible, reducing interventions in the cellar to a minimum in order to enhance the terroir of origin and the distinctive personalities of each cru.
Produttori del Barbaresco are still the only single-grape winery in the Langhe which has always succeeded in evolving in the name of quality, strengthened by the indissoluble bond with the terroir and the Nebbiolo grape.
Produced for the first time in 1967 and vinified all in exactly the same way, they offer wine lovers a unique experience, almost a walk through the Barbaresco vineyards, savouring the different nuances and characteristics of each one.
