Shipping & Delivery Policy

Hunters Hill Wine Room Pty Ltd ("HHWR", "we", "us", "our") ships Australia‑wide with care. This policy explains dispatch times, delivery options, rates, alcohol delivery requirements, and how we protect your wine in transit.

Important: We dispatch same day on business days for most orders placed before our cut‑off (see below), however we do not offer same‑day delivery.

1) Where we ship

  • Australia‑wide. Courier availability depends on your address, order size and product type.

  • International: Not currently offered.

2) Dispatch timeframes

  • Same‑day dispatch (Mon–Fri): Orders placed by 12:00 pm AEST typically dispatch the same business day. Orders placed after cut‑off, on weekends or NSW public holidays dispatch the next business day.

  • During peak periods or network disruptions, dispatch may take up to 48 hours.

3) Delivery estimates (business days)

These are estimates only; remote areas may take longer. Please note: HHWR does not offer same‑day delivery under our liquor licence.

Notes:

  • Delivery windows exclude weekends and public holidays.

  • Weather events, heat holds (see §8), and courier disruptions can extend timeframes.

4) Shipping rates

Standard delivery (Australia):

  • NSW addresses: FREE on orders $250+; $15 flat fee on orders under $250.

  • All other states/territories: $15 flat fee per order (no free‑shipping threshold).

Express options (where available): priced at checkout based on destination and order size.

5) Carriers & tracking

We partner with reputable carriers for reliability and speed. When your order leaves our warehouse you’ll receive a shipment confirmation email with tracking (where available). For certain premium wine couriers, tracking may be limited; our team can update you on request.

6) Delivery requirements for alcohol

  • 18+ only. By law, alcohol deliveries must be received by a person 18 years or over. ID may be requested on delivery.

  • No unattended delivery to minors or intoxicated persons. Couriers may refuse delivery if legal requirements are not met.

Authority to Leave (ATL)

  • ATL may be available for standard services at the driver’s discretion where a safe location exists.

  • ATL is not available for certain premium/express services.

  • If ATL is requested, the risk passes on delivery; see Insurance (§10).

PO Boxes & Parcel Lockers

  • We currently do not deliver to PO Boxes, Parcel Lockers or Parcel Collect addresses. Please provide a residential or business street address for delivery.

7) Redelivery, address changes & access

  • Redelivery/Return-to-sender: If no one is available and no ATL was provided, a redelivery may be scheduled; additional fees may apply per the carrier’s policy.

  • Address changes: If your order has not been collected by a courier, we’ll update the address where possible. After collection, redirection is not guaranteed and may incur fees.

  • Access notes: Please include gate codes, business hours, loading dock details, or delivery restrictions at checkout to avoid delays.

8) Heat policy (protecting your wine)

We treat wine as a perishable product. To reduce risk of heat damage:

  • We may hold dispatch during periods of extreme heat until a safer weather window is available.

  • If you prefer immediate dispatch despite heat, tell us in writing (you accept the risk).

  • We aim to ship early in the week to minimise weekend layovers.

Tip: Consider a business address for faster daytime receipt.

9) Store Pick‑Up

You can Pick Up In Store at Hunters Hill Wine Room (Unit 5/35 Alexandra St, Hunters Hill NSW 2110). Simply select Pick Up In Store at checkout.

  • Orders placed during business hours are ready within one hour during opening hours.
