Les Clos is widely regarded as the king of Chablis’ seven Grand Crus, producing the region’s most powerful, structured and age-worthy wines. Billaud-Simon’s parcel was planted in 1966 and occupies a prime position on the Grand Cru hillside. The vineyard’s steep slopes and Kimmeridgian soils consistently deliver wines of exceptional concentration and mineral intensity. In 2023, approximately half of the wine was matured in oak, providing additional texture and complexity while retaining the vineyard’s unmistakable identity.

The 2023 Les Clos is a profound wine of immense depth and structure. Aromas of oyster shell, citrus oil, green apple, white flowers and crushed stone unfold gradually in the glass. The palate is dense and concentrated yet remains remarkably vibrant, supported by a firm acid spine and layers of mineral extract. Despite the generosity of the vintage, the wine retains outstanding precision and balance.
