William Downie’s Camp Hill Pinot Noir is his most refined and high-toned expression, grown at 250m on a north-facing slope in Victoria’s Baw Baw Shire. This elevated site, planted in 1998, sits on red volcanic soils with more rock content than Downie’s Bull Swamp vineyard, resulting in wines of finesse and aromatic lift. The 2024 vintage brings added depth and richness, yet retains the hallmark freshness and clarity. Wild florals, bergamot and mountain herbs lead into a core of dark cherry, redcurrant, and subtle spice, framed by fine tannins and cool-climate tension. Ethereal yet powerful—this is Downie at his most elegant.
