2024 Warramate Chardonnay is sourced from the Warramate vineyard in the Yarra Valley, planted at elevations between 160 and 180 metres. Produced from a blend of the estate’s Chardonnay clones, including the historic old vine selection alongside Bernard 95, 124 and 548, the wine captures both precision and generosity in a distinctly Yarra Valley style.

The nose is vibrant and lifted, showing aromas of lemon verbena, crisp pear flesh and citrus, layered with subtle mineral nuances. The palate is richly textured yet beautifully controlled, combining soft, seamless fruit with a fine line of lemony freshness and minerality. Gentle oak influence adds complexity and structure, sitting quietly in the background without overshadowing the purity of fruit.

The fruit is whole bunch pressed to preserve delicacy and precision, with the inclusion of hard pressings contributing additional texture and a gentle phenolic grip. Fermentation on light solids enhances mouthfeel and complexity before maturation in French oak for nine months, with 10% new oak. Barrel fermentation brings further texture and depth, while retaining freshness and energy throughout the long finish.

An elegant and refined Chardonnay that drinks beautifully now, yet will reward careful cellaring over the next five years.
