Tyrrell’s 4 Acres Shiraz is a single-vineyard wine from the oldest block on the Tyrrell's estate, planted in 1879 and now a cornerstone of their Sacred Sites collection. Located on deep red clay over limestone in the Hunter Valley, this heritage vineyard yields a classic medium-bodied style with elegance and longevity. The fruit is handpicked and wild-fermented with around 10% whole bunches, then matured for 14 months in a single, three-year-old French oak cask. Expect a fragrant nose of red fruits, dried herbs and spice, leading to a precise, savoury palate with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a mineral edge. A benchmark expression of old-vine Hunter Shiraz.
