The 2023 Tolpuddle Pinot Noir is a striking release from this celebrated Tasmanian vineyard, offering both concentration and finesse from a record-cool season. Nestled in the Coal River Valley, Tolpuddle’s site saw a wet spring that led to low yields and smaller berries, followed by ideal ripening conditions that ensured pristine fruit. The wine was crafted from hand-picked fruit, fermented with whole berries and whole bunches in open fermenters, and matured in French oak (one-third new) for ten months. The result is a layered and expressive Pinot, with deep black cherry, plum, and savoury spice, wrapped in silky tannins and a mineral line that speaks to its cool-climate origins.
