The Hedonist Shiraz is crafted from estate-grown certified organic and biodynamic vineyards in the Willunga foothills and select organic sites across McLaren Vale, known for their diverse soils and ideal ripening conditions. The McLaren Vale region’s mild 2022 vintage contributed to a balance of sugar ripeness, natural acidity, and texture. The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented mostly in open-top fermenters with some whole-bunch fermentation, followed by 16 months maturation in mostly seasoned French oak foudre and hogsheads. This deep red wine offers a complex bouquet of red berries, blueberries, liquorice, macadamia, and cracked black pepper, while the palate is rich and layered with dusty, firm tannins providing structure and balance. The Hedonist Shiraz is both approachable on release and built for nuanced enjoyment.
