Description
The first Grenache Blanc made by Adam Foster at Syrahmi, sourced from the Humis Vineyard in Colbinabbin, Heathcote, owned by Hugh and Missy Jones. The vineyard sits at 133 metres elevation on ancient, 550-million-year-old Precambrian soils. The opportunity to work with Grenache Blanc came during the 2024 vintage as part of Foster’s ongoing experimentation with new varieties, techniques and vessels.
Highly aromatic, with pear, white blossom, stone fruit and fennel leading into a subtle pithy character. The wine spent an extended 16 months on fine lees without racking, building fine phenolics, mouth-filling texture and impressive length while retaining freshness. Jeni Port describes it as a richer, textural expression, with stone fruit, pear, baked apple, almond, cardamom and peppery spice, praising both its generosity and length.
