Swinney Estate has earned its reputation as one of Western Australia’s finest sources of Shiraz and Frankland River Riesling, while also emerging as a world-class site for Grenache and Mourvèdre. Since 2018, the estate has been guided by acclaimed winemaker Rob Mann, whose experience at Cape Mentelle, Hardy’s Tintara, and Newton in Napa has brought further precision and polish to the wines.

The 2022 Syrah captures the perfect meeting of site and season. The nose is layered with notes of blackberry, balsamic, licorice, forest fruits, tea leaf, and alpine herbs, all underscored by a cool mineral edge of steel and iodine. On the palate, it’s vibrant yet powerful, framed by fine, chewy tannins and lifted acidity. Flavours of blood orange, saffron, sandalwood, and dark berries unfurl across a long, savoury finish marked by the iron-rich character that defines Frankland River reds.
