Description
Founded in 1729, Ruinart is recognised as the oldest Champagne house, established in Reims by Nicolas Ruinart and still celebrated for its elegance and pioneering spirit. The Second Skin packaging represents the house’s commitment to sustainability: a moulded paper case, fully recyclable and nine times lighter than traditional gift boxes, designed to protect the wine while reducing environmental impact.
The Rosé itself is composed of around 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir, with 18–19% of the latter vinified as red wine to give depth of colour and aromatic complexity. Crafted from a blend of multiple vintages, it spends a minimum of 2 years on lees before release.
In the glass, it shows a delicate pomegranate-pink hue with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is vibrant and layered, offering aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant, and rose petals, accented by hints of spice and citrus zest. The palate is supple and silky, balancing freshness with intensity, carrying flavours of red berries, blood orange, and a subtle saline edge. The finish is elegant and precise, true to Ruinart’s house style of finesse and purity led by Chardonnay.
The Second Skin edition not only reflects Ruinart’s winemaking excellence but also its innovative approach to sustainable luxury—an emblem of tradition meeting modern responsibility.
