Description
Ruinart, founded in 1729 in Reims, is the oldest established Champagne house and remains celebrated for its luminous, Chardonnay-driven style. The Second Skin edition represents a modern step towards sustainability: an elegant, recyclable paper case that embraces the bottle’s shape, reducing packaging waste while maintaining the refinement associated with Ruinart.
The Blanc de Blancs is composed entirely of Chardonnay, primarily from Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims crus, with the addition of grapes from Sézannais and the Vesle Valley. The wine is a blend of multiple vintages, with a portion of reserve wines adding depth and consistency, and spends at least 3 years ageing on lees before release.
Pale golden in the glass with a fine, persistent mousse, the nose offers lifted aromas of citrus, stone fruit, and white flowers, alongside hints of brioche and almond. The palate is fresh, pure, and elegant, revealing flavours of nectarine, lemon zest, and pear, underpinned by chalky minerality. Its balance of creamy texture and vibrant acidity leads to a long, harmonious finish, showcasing the finesse of Ruinart’s signature Chardonnay expression.
The Second Skin Blanc de Blancs encapsulates the house’s twin values of heritage and innovation: a Champagne of timeless elegance, presented in packaging that reflects a future-minded commitment to sustainability.
