Description
Produced entirely from Pinot Noir grown in the Grand Cru village of Verzy, Les Champs Brûlés is a true Rosé de Saignée, created through approximately 24 hours of skin contact before pressing. The vineyard was planted in 1964 and is farmed sustainably by Adrien Rousseaux, whose focus on low yields and meticulous vineyard work has quickly established the domaine among Champagne's most exciting grower-producers. Following fermentation, the wine spends six months ageing in oak barrels before bottling, with a low dosage of around 3–4.5 g/L preserving both freshness and precision.
The 2020 is a beautifully detailed rosé Champagne that balances intensity with elegance. Aromas of wild raspberry, red cherry, blood orange and rose petals lead into a palate of vibrant red fruits, citrus zest and subtle spice. The texture is broad yet energetic, with the barrel ageing contributing complexity rather than overt oak character. Chalky minerality and bright acidity provide focus and length, making this a highly gastronomic Rosé de Saignée..
