Roland Lavantureux’s Vauprin is the flagship Chablis from this respected family estate, now led by Roland’s sons, Arnaud and David. The fruit comes from a single lieu-dit vineyard near Lignorelles, one of the highest sites in the appellation, grown on classic Kimmeridgian limestone that imparts intense mineral structure. Fermented in stainless steel and matured in seasoned oak barrels, the wine gains layered texture without sacrificing clarity or freshness. The 2022 vintage is taut and focused, offering citrus, green apple, and a whisper of reduction, balanced by a chalky backbone and subtle oak complexity. A Chablis of both power and poise—Premier Cru in all but name.
