This fragrant, silky Pinot Noir represents outstanding value, as it comes from one of Burgundy’s lesser-known appellations that often escapes the attention of investors. The Monthélie opens with a vivid bouquet of small red and black fruits—bright cherry, redcurrant, pomegranate and blackcurrant—layered with notes of peony, bracken and gentle spice. On the palate it is supple and velvety, framed by fine, delicate tannins, with impressive freshness, depth and a long, cool-toned finish.

Monthélie sits between Volnay and Meursault, overlooking the first slopes of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyards face south and south-east, rooted in pebbly Bathonian limestone topped with red clay and marl. Vine parcels extend toward both the Volnay and Auxey-Duresses sides of the village, at elevations ranging from 230 to 370 metres—conditions that help explain the wine’s finesse, brightness and natural balance.
