Ngeringa’s Iluma Vineyard Syrah is a benchmark cool-climate Shiraz from the biodynamically farmed slopes of Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills, crafted by Erinn Klein. Grown at 420m on schist and ironstone soils, the 2022 vintage benefited from a long, slow ripening season that delivered delicacy and depth. Fermented with some whole bunches and aged for 18 months in 40% new French oak, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. It opens with dark fruit, aniseed, musk and bramble, unfolding into a savoury, silky palate with velvety tannins and vibrant length. A serious, cellar-worthy Syrah of finesse and energy.
