Le Calendre is a family-run estate in the foothills of San Pietro in Cariano, at the heart of Valpolicella Classica, now led by the fifth generation. The 4-hectare vineyards are farmed organically with minimal intervention, reflecting the family’s commitment to preserving the region’s ancient winemaking traditions. The estate’s name, Le Calendre, honours a centuries-old method of recording and forecasting the weather to guide vineyard and cellar work—a heritage passed down through generations.

This appassimento-style sweet wine is a blend of 70% Corvina and Corvinone, 25% Rondinella, and 5% Molinara, with ageing potential. Deep ruby red with purple highlights, it opens with an extraordinary bouquet of ripe red fruits. On the palate, it is warm, persuasive, and velvety, finishing with an inviting sweet marasca cherry note. Harmonious and elegant, it pairs beautifully with Pandoro di Verona, dry pastries, dark chocolate desserts, or mature and peppery cheeses. Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled.
