Located in the Hunter Valley, the vineyard produces low-yielding, hand-picked fruit from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Shiraz, benefiting from the region’s warm climate and well-drained soils. The wine is open-fermented to soften tannins, aged first in large old casks for six months, then matured for about a year in small French oak barriques of varying ages before bottling. The 2021 vintage shows lifted aromas of blueberry, raspberry, and fresh cherry with hints of liquorice and black pepper, carrying through to a medium-bodied, balanced palate with elegant tannins and a stylish, textural finish.
