Perfumed and vibrant, this wine bursts with sour-cherry aromatics, drawn from a grower vineyard on the Eastern Range in the Clare Valley, planted in 2000 at 500 metres above sea level and owned by the Milburn family. Hand-picked and cold-soaked before a spontaneous ferment, it spent 90 days on skins, left undisturbed until the tannins fully resolved, before being basket-pressed and matured for nine months in seasoned French oak. Bottled without fining or filtration, it’s a pure and unadorned expression of site and careful farming.
