Since establishing his domaine in 2008, Julien Sunier has become one of the leading figures of the new generation of Beaujolais. Working exclusively with organically farmed old-vine parcels across Morgon, Fleurie and Régnié, Sunier focuses on expressing each cru through meticulous vineyard work and minimal intervention. Fruit is harvested by hand, fermented with whole bunches and indigenous yeasts before ageing in older Burgundian barrels, many sourced from Christophe Roumier. His Morgon comes from steep, granite-rich vineyards and beautifully demonstrates the structure and longevity that make Morgon the most age-worthy of the Beaujolais crus.
