Description
Julien Brocard, son of renowned Chablis producer Jean-Marc Brocard, has forged his own identity with a range of biodynamic wines that emphasise purity and terroir. Certified organic and biodynamic since 2011, La Boissonneuse is his signature cuvée, grown on classic Kimmeridgian limestone soils near the village of Préhy. The vineyard is farmed without chemicals, and winemaking is guided by minimal intervention, allowing Chardonnay to express its freshness and minerality with clarity.
The 2021 vintage, from a cooler growing season, is precise and finely etched. Aromas of lemon zest, green apple, pear, and white flowers mingle with delicate flinty accents. The palate is taut and linear, balancing bright citrus and orchard fruit with a saline mineral core and chalky texture. Élevage in stainless steel and large neutral foudres lends roundness without obscuring fruit detail. The finish is long, mouthwatering, and full of energy, true to the character of great Chablis.
Julien Brocard has become a leading voice in modern Chablis, showing how biodynamic farming can enhance both purity and typicity. La Boissonneuse reflects his philosophy with clarity: a wine that unites terroir transparency, vibrant fruit, and timeless elegance.
