Description
Bright yet grounded, Pur Granite is a beautifully expressive Beaujolais-Villages with depth, lift and mineral drive. In the glass it shows a deep garnet hue with violet highlights, while the nose opens on ripe berries, subtle spice and a gentle floral note. The palate is bold and juicy yet finely shaped, with concentrated red and dark fruit carried by fresh acidity and a distinctly stony, granitic finish that brings precision and energy to the wine.
Jean-Michel Dupré farms vineyards perched above the village of Beaujeu, on south-facing slopes with sandy-loam soils over granite, where some vines are approaching a century in age. Grapes are whole-cluster fermented with indigenous yeasts, without sulphur during fermentation, followed by a short vatting and ageing in tank to preserve fruit purity and site expression. The result is a Beaujolais of character and balance; generous yet precise, and deeply rooted in its granitic origins.
