Jean Foillard, one of Beaujolais’ most iconic natural winemakers, is celebrated for his pure, silky, and soulful expressions of Morgon. His Cuvée Corcelette comes from 80-year-old vines rooted in sandy granite soils, offering a racy, lithe and more aromatic counterpoint to his Côte du Py. Fermented with whole bunches using native yeast, Foillard ages the wine in used barrels with no fining or filtration, allowing the site to shine through. The 2022 vintage shows bright red cherry, wild strawberry and floral lift, with fine tannins and a mineral thread driving a silky, energetic palate. A benchmark Morgon full of charm, finesse and quiet intensity.
