Elise Dechannes is a winemaker based in the renowned village of Les Riceys. Born into a family of vignerons, she returned to her roots in 2008 following a change in career. After graduating from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Reims and building a successful career in banking, she chose to come back to the land that shaped her. Growing up in the world of wine instilled in her strong convictions and an early awareness of environmental issues. Elise Dechannes sees herself as a steward of the precious terroir entrusted to her, believing that great Champagne cannot be made without respect for the soil and the people who work it. From the outset of her reconversion, she has adopted rigorous, ethical, and quality-driven practices: the vines are farmed organically with minimal interventions, weeding is done by hand, and harvesting is carried out with great care. Her membership in the Terr’Avenir Association reflects her deep commitment to sustainable and responsible viticulture.

The 2022 Essentielle from Élise Dechannes, made from 100% Pinot Noir, is distinguished by its straw-yellow color with occasional pinkish highlights. Its refreshing nose blends citrus and orange zest, while the palate offers a lovely lightness, a tangy purity, and a delicately enveloping finish. Ideal to accompany oysters, lobster, or to enhance an aperitif.
