Wester Reach Chardonnay is a regional cuvée designed to express the broader character of the Russian River Valley rather than a single vineyard site. The wine blends fruit from several carefully selected vineyards across different sub-districts of the appellation, combining the richness of valley-floor vineyards with the freshness and structure of cooler coastal sites.

The blend typically incorporates fruit from vineyards such as Flax Estate, El Diablo, Bressay Estate, Cornerstone and Winners Circle, each contributing a different element to the final wine. Flax Estate provides the core of orchard-fruit richness and texture, while hillside and coastal sites introduce acidity, mineral tension and aromatic complexity.

Aromatically the wine shows a vibrant spectrum of pear, honeydew melon, lemon sorbet and baked apple, alongside subtle notes of white flowers, mint and sea-spray freshness. On the palate the wine is broad and enveloping, with layered citrus and stone-fruit flavours supported by honeyed lemon, hazelnut richness and a long, flinty finish.

Fermentation and ageing take place in French oak barrels for approximately 11 months, followed by a period settling in tank before bottling. This élevage adds depth and complexity while maintaining the wine’s freshness and structural balance.

The result is a Chardonnay that captures the classic style of the Russian River Valley, combining concentration, aromatic intensity and coastal vibrancy in a multi-layered expression of the region.
