Founded in 2019 by Caroline Meurée and Hervé Maligne, Domaine des Sables Verts is one of the Loire Valley's most exciting young estates. Based in Varrains, in the heart of Saumur-Champigny, the 16-hectare estate comprises more than 30 individual vineyard parcels planted predominantly to Cabernet Franc on the region's famous limestone (tuffeau), clay-limestone and distinctive green sand soils that inspired the domaine's name. Farmed organically, grapes are hand harvested, naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged primarily in stainless steel with only minimal sulphur before bottling, resulting in wines that emphasise freshness, transparency and site expression.
