‘Demi’ represents the brighter and more immediately approachable side of Adam Foster’s work with Heathcote Shiraz. Rather than the concentration and long-term structure of wines such as Home Block, Demi is built around energy, juicy fruit and drinkability, while still retaining the savoury personality that runs through the Syrahmi range.

The 2024 shows brambly dark and red fruits with spice and an appealing freshness, carried by supple, suede-like tannins. It is medium-bodied and energetic rather than heavy, making it a particularly accessible introduction to Foster’s interpretation of modern Heathcote Shiraz. The producer currently lists the 2024 Demi as part of the current Syrahmi release, although detailed technical information for this vintage has not yet been published on the website.
