A pioneering force in Santa Barbara since 1982, Au Bon Climat has long championed a restrained, Burgundian approach to Pinot Noir under the vision of the late Jim Clendenen. This regional cuvée blends fruit from renowned vineyards across Santa Maria Valley and Los Alamos, where marine soils, cool Pacific air, and east-west valleys shape a distinctive, slow-ripening character. Hand harvested and fermented in small lots with daily punchdowns, the wine is aged for 8–12 months in François Frères French oak, enhancing depth and structure. Aromas of red currant, blueberry and blood orange lead into bay leaf, white pepper and wet stone, with a palate of bright acidity, fine tannins and classic Santa Barbara elegance.
