Description

Sébastien Brunet is among the most dynamic new voices in Vouvray, farming 15 hectares of Chenin Blanc around the village of Chançay. Following his father’s sudden passing in 2006, Brunet took over the family estate and has steadily converted the vineyards to organic practices. His philosophy is to allow Chenin Blanc to express its purity and terroir through gentle farming, native yeasts, and minimal intervention in the cellar. The Arpent cuvée comes from 30-year-old vines rooted in tuffeau limestone and clay, harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel.

The 2024 vintage reflects both vibrancy and balance. Aromas of white peach, pear, citrus blossom, and quince are layered with subtle notes of honey and wet stone. The palate is taut and mineral, with crisp acidity driving flavours of orchard fruit, citrus zest, and a saline edge that lingers on the finish. Fermented to dryness, Arpent captures the elegance and precision that Chenin Blanc from Vouvray is celebrated for, while remaining approachable in its youth.

Brunet’s wines have attracted international attention for their authenticity and finesse, and Arpent is his calling card. It is an introduction to both his style and the broader identity of Vouvray: fresh, ageworthy, and unmistakably tied to its limestone soils.
