Australian by birth but long based in Burgundy, she has spent more than two decades working alongside growers across the Côte d’Or, establishing a négociant range defined by precision and clarity of site.

Her approach is deliberately light-handed. Jane works closely with trusted growers, harvesting by parcel and favouring gentle extraction, moderate whole-bunch use and restrained oak. The result is Pinot Noir that emphasises fragrance, detail and balance rather than weight or power; a style that carries seamlessly across both her Burgundian and Australian wines.

Her work has not gone unnoticed. Jane was named Négociant of the Year by La Revue du Vin de France a few years ago; a particularly significant recognition for a non-French national. Most recently, she has also been appointed winemaker at Domaine Comte Armand, one of Burgundy’s historic and highly regarded estates.

Vintage 2024

A mild, wet winter led into an unusually warm March, prompting early budburst. Rainfall persisted throughout the season, with subdued sunshine and a flowering period in early June marked by constant showers. High disease pressure; particularly from powdery mildew; required meticulous attention in the vineyards. Thanks to the tireless work of growers, the grapes remained protected and healthy.

August brought several warm, dry weeks before further rain, followed by a welcome return to fine weather for the mid-September harvest. Picking began on 13 September in Volnay and concluded on 23 September in Gevrey-Chambertin.

Working with more than a dozen dedicated growers ensured the fruit arriving at the winery was of exceptional quality, albeit in small quantities; often less than half of last year's yields. Whole-bunch use was reduced this year to no more than 40%.

The reds show perfume, depth and finesse; the whites display tension, precision and intensity, reminiscent of the 2014 vintage.

"A wet, cold vintage – just like we should have in Burgundy – the fruit got ripe at low alcohol levels but without green tannins, which was a nice surprise. I tried not to extract too much whilst maximising the fruit. I like them due to their low alcohols – say 12–12.5% – I chaptalized, but not too much.
